We can print on a huge number of items with our Hydrographics coatings – wood, glass, metal, stone, plastic and carbon fibre. Due to the nature, materials or size of some objects, however, there are a few restrictions.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to Clothing / fabric / textiles

We’re unable at present to apply coatings to clothing, fabrics or textiles as they can’t be coated in a lacquer to protect them, so they would absorb the coatings that were applied to them.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to Gel-based items 

We wouldn’t be able to coat gel-based items as the gel would dissolve in the treatment liquid.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to entire electrical / mechanical items

Obviously we can’t submerge entire electrical or mechanical items, or anything containing batteries, in our tank. However, we can remove the parts of your item that it’s safe to coat (e.g. the casing of your gaming controller, the outer edge of your clock, the outer part of your PC mouse), do our magic stuff with our custom coatings and fantastic designs, then replace them for a brand-new look.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to cardboard- / paper-based items

These materials wouldn’t be suitable for our custom coatings service as they wouldn’t stand up to being treated.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to anything bigger than 1.3m

Due to the size of the Hydrographics tank that we use, we couldn’t dip and coat anything with dimensions bigger than 1.3m x 70cm x 55cm.

Why we can’t apply Hydrographics coatings to anything that will heat up

For safety reasons, we don’t apply coatings to oven doors, engine parts, etc. – anything that generates a reasonable amount of heat.
